ACLAS offers an innovative, deep immersion Spanish program for foreign university students majoring in Business Administration at the undergraduate level. The program combines Spanish language study with the opportunity to learn about business management in Latin America. Students will also learn about the culture/lifestyle behind Latin American business by living with an Ecuadorian family and by experiencing Ecuador through adventure tourism.

The purpose of this program is to satisfy student communication needs in Spanish, be they needs encountered in daily life, at work or during university studies. To meet their communication needs, participants will work on and utilize four language skills in particular: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The program enhances these skills by teaching non-verbal communication strategies specific to Latin America. This approach assures that students understand native speakers properly and that native speakers, in turn, understand students in daily life, work and study contexts.

In addition to the language training, the program includes visits to different industries in Ecuador and neighboring Spanish-speaking nations. With these visits, students have the chance to experience and to become familiar with business paradigms, culturally-specific negotiation skills and forms of interpersonal communication in Latin America.
