The Spanish for Business Students program follows the principles defined in the ACLAS Learning for Life Philosophy.

This philosophy encourages students to learn through life experiences. The following elements of the Spanish for Business Students Program reflect Learning for Life: 

• Visits to production and service sector companies in Ecuador and neighboring countries.

•  Application of the "real world" Spanish encountered during field visits in classes and daily experiences.

•  Lectures given by trainers with experience in Latin American business themes/issues.

Program content allows students to experience and learn about Ecuadorian and Latin American business worlds and the cultures they incorporate. Specifically, this program includes:

• Technical vocabulary for the business world.
• Business writing techniques.
• Latin America negotiation methods
• Principal Commercial -Economic Geography for Ecuador and Latin America.
• Business Patterns
• Latin American Political and Economical Contexts.
• Franchises and business administration
• Ecuadorian and Latin American literature, art and culture

This is a four-month program. During the first two months, students attend an intense Spanish immersion course involving five hours of language instruction daily. For the last two months, students have three hours of specialized business classes and two hours of Spanish instruction per day.

• Four months living experience with an Ecuadorian family
• Three meals daily and laundry service
• 5 hours of Spanish instruction daily during the first two months
• 2 hours of Spanish instruction daily during the last two months
• 3 hours of specialized business instruction daily during the last two months
• Visits to businesses in Ecuador
• Visits to businesses in Peru
• Trips to several tourists sites in Ecuador
• Materials (notebooks, photocopies, information resources, etc.)
